Media release
Following Minister Chanthivong’s statement this morning, we want to provide further clarity of what this means for NSW Innovators and the Stone & Chalk community.
The evolution of the Stone & Chalk Sydney Startup Hub to Tech Central marks a new chapter for NSW and a deliberate move positioning Tech Central as a world-class innovation district, reflecting the successful models seen in global innovation precincts.
This move will strengthen NSW's leadership in emerging technologies and create a powerful, accessible hub for collaboration. Together, startups, scaleups, corporates, universities, and global players like Atlassian can shape the future of our industries, ensuring NSW leads the way in innovation.
Stone & Chalk has been supporting Australian innovators for almost a decade. The Sydney Startup hub has been an incredible success with Stone & Chalk residents delivering extraordinary outcomes. Doubling down on Tech Central is the maturation of this — providing an accessible front door for innovators to access opportunities across Tech Central and broader NSW.
We’re proud to play a leading role to anchor this transformation. Our focus is to continue our mission of strengthening NSW’s innovation ecosystem, helping innovators go further, faster.
There is a home for all at Tech Central and over the coming months we look forward to collaborating with both Stone & Chalk members and the broader NSW community to open an exciting new chapter for future industries in our state.
Chris Kirk, CEO of Stone & Chalk
