A Masterclass in “AI – What’s all the fuss about?”

smooth

How advancements in AI technology are impacting both start-ups and corporates alike and what you can do to take advantage of it

From SIRI to self-driving cars, artificial intelligence (AI) is progressing rapidly and there is now more computing power in the mobile phone you keep in your pocket than there was in all the computing power used by NASA during the Apollo landings that put a man on the moon.
But with buzzwords and acronyms like AI, ML, deep learning, narrow AI and neural networks, you might be wondering – “What does all this mean and what is the fuss about?”.
Join us at 8am on Wednesday, 06 December @ Stone & Chalk for a one-hour masterclass in AI

What is an ICO? Is it smart money? What’s the role of current angel and VCs? These and many more questions about ICOs will be answered during the event.

The Future of Women in the Future of Work series

Wow, this is a mouthful, but ever so important.
As we move to more automated workforce, seeing the plethora of new businesses starting up, and the need to juggle the ever-increasing demands of our lives, Stone & Chalk has created the Future of Women in the Future of Work Series, a quarterly get-together of like-minded people designed to exchange ideas, impart wisdom, war and success stories, in a collaborative environment.

The future of work presents opportunities as much as obstacles – while it is estimated that 2 billion jobs will disappear globally by 2030. This presents an opportunity, even necessity, for greater levels of entrepreneurship. History shows us that job loss and workforce downturn is a breeding ground for innovation and research into the success of female entrepreneurs demonstrates that they are best positioned to flourish in this environment for the benefit of society.
Each quarter we will feature a group of inspiring people, and you’ll have the chance to interact with them, ask questions, and take home some practical tips to inject into your life.

OUTSIDE-IN INNOVATION
How To Partner With Startups

hsbc-tower

Financial services need to innovate to stay ahead of the curve. One of the lowest cost ways to do this is by collaborating with startups. Startups can help shortcut the internal innovation process if you work with the right startup in the right way. The benefits of collaborating with startups include cost savings, unrestricted thinking and access to talent, services and products outside the organisation. But for this to succeed, companies need to be ‘startup ready’. All too often companies and startups assume they are and then fail. Join us to hear real-life stories, of what’s worked, and what hasn’t – as well as the different perspectives from heads of operations, I.T., procurement, legal, finance and innovation.

Data portability is a trend that is going to impact every start-up and corporate, yet many are unaware of its significance and are unprepared for the impact it is going to have.

Many companies recognise the value of utilising data to their competitive advantage but the landscape is shifting. Data is no longer siloed and the barriers to transferring data both within an organisation and out of it are disappearing fast.
